A new anime adaptation of The Quintessential Quintuplets has been announced during the special event that was held on April 1 in Yokohama, Japan. Titled The Quintessential Quintuplets ∽, the newest installment will adapt scenes that did not make it in the previous series. A key visual has been revealed on the anime’s official website.
Meanwhile, an accompanying teaser trailer of the new anime project was also revealed on the TBS Animations YouTube channel. You can watch the 42-second preview below.
The original cast members of The Quintessential Quintuplets are returning to the newest installment, which includes Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as Futaro Uesugi, Ayana Taketatsu as Nino Nakano, Ayane Sakura as Yotsuba Nakano, Inori Minase as Itsuki Nakano, Kana Hanazawa as Ichika Nakano, and Miku Ito as Miku Nakano.
The Quintessential Quintuplets tells the story of Uesugi Fuutaro, an intellectual high school student who finds himself in a private tutor gig to guide the quintuplet sisters, namely Ichika, Nino, Miku, Yotsuba and Itsuki.
The first season of the anime was adapted by Tezuka Productions in 2019. Bibury Animation Studios then took over for the second season and the movie, which premiered and screened in 2021 and 2022 respectively.
The Quintessential Quintuplets is currently streaming on Crunchyroll and Funimation, with an English dub for the series.
